Description

ACYCLOVIR is an antiviral drug that is used to treat herpes infections, including genital herpes, cold sores, and shingles (herpes zoster).
Acyclovir Oral Suspension, USP 200 mg/5 mL is a prescription medicine that comes in a bottle. It is used to treat:

Genital herpes
Herpes zoster (shingles)
Cold sores

Acyclovir Oral Suspension, USP 200 mg/5 mL is not meant to be used to prevent herpes infections.
It is not known how Acyclovir Oral Suspension, USP 200 mg/5 mL works. It is believed to block the ability of the herpes virus to multiply.
Acyclovir Oral Suspension, USP 200 mg/5 mL is usually taken 4 times a day for 7 days.
